Design, build and run the Go services behind our real-time sportsbook, from live event data to bet processing, in a product that runs 24/7.
About the role
Our sportsbook handles a constant stream of live events, price updates and customer actions, around the clock. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll design, build and operate the Go services behind it, with a strong focus on latency, correctness and resilience. You'll work in a cross-functional product team, own services from design to production and help raise the bar for engineering practices across the department.
What you will do
- Design, build and operate Go services for live events, pricing, bet processing and account features
- Optimize services for low latency and high throughput during peak live-event traffic
- Design clear APIs and event-driven integrations with internal teams and external data providers
- Own reliability in production, including observability, alerting, incident response and post-incident reviews
- Review code, mentor other engineers and contribute to architecture decisions
- Work closely with product, trading and risk teams to turn business needs into robust technical solutions
What you will need
- 5+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years with Go in production
- Strong understanding of concurrency, distributed systems and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, plus Redis or similar caching
- Experience with message brokers or streaming platforms such as Kafka, NATS or RabbitMQ
- Solid testing habits and experience with CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes
- Confident written and spoken English for remote collaboration
Nice to have
- Experience in sports betting, trading, fintech or another real-time, high-load domain
- Familiarity with WebSockets or other real-time delivery protocols
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar observability tools
- Knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers
